Product Overview

The Model 800-1-212-TP100 Series offers the world’s first passive local loop simulators designed for testing Gfast. This test solution provides a variety of loop lengths and increments that are perfect for repeatable and configurable Gfast performance testing. The 800-1-212-TP100 series of products integrate with Telebyte’s Gfast Physical Layer Testing Solution (see separate datasheets).

Cable Simulation

The cable simulated is based upon TP100 which is defined in the Broadband Forum’s WT-285, Issue 2, Revision 6, Annex E, August 2018. This product simulates attenuation, impedance, group delay and DC resistance.

Reverse Power Feed

One important feature of Gfast is the requirement for Reverse Power Feeding for the remote device from the customer’s residential gateway. The 800-1-212-TP100 has been designed to support testing of 60 VDC Short Range Reverse Powering per ETSI TS 101 548.

Very Low Noise Floor

Low noise levels are extremely important when the goal is maximum capacity of the local loop. Service Providers have measured background noise levels in their networks as low as -155 dBm/Hz. An active design of a local loop simulator is incapable of achieving such a low level. Conversely, Telebyte’s passive design (with a noise floor of less than -160 dBm/Hz) is ideal for Rate-Reach performance testing of Gfast.
